Lewis Township Cemetery is located in Section 16 of Lewis Township, on the north side of County Road G 66, southeast of Council Bluffs, where it intersects Highway 275.
Land transfers at the County Auditor’s office, list the following: To Lewis Township by C. Plumer and wife, one acre in SE 1/4 of NE 1/4, Section 16, Township 74 N, Range 43W, dated 2 March 1883. More land has been added in recent years.
This hillside cemetery is well kept and commands a view of the Missouri River bottom to the south. It is an active cemetery with a number of recent burials.
